Story & Atmosphere
Welcome to Pizzeria Dal Presidente - Sede Storica, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Napoli on Via dei Tribunali. With a rich history spanning 89 years, this renowned pizzeria has solidified its reputation as a must-visit destination for pizza lovers and food enthusiasts alike.
As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped by an inviting atmosphere highlighted by the warm smiles of the staff. Patrons like Phoebe have raved about the kindness and accommodating nature of the employees, who take great pride in crafting each dish with care. The spectacle of watching your marinara pizza portafoglio being made fresh right in front of you is an experience like no other. The vibrant flavors and generous portions of sauce, as Phoebe emphasized, are simply divine.
But it’s not just the service that shines; the pizza at Dal Presidente is nothing short of spectacular. Michael Gerlan's experience echoes this sentiment, as the pizzeria did not disappoint when recommended as the top choice by a local cab driver. Diners rave about the traditional Neapolitan style pizza which features a beautifully charred crust—with none of the dreaded watery center some establishments struggle with. Each bite transports you to the streets of Naples, showcasing the artistry that has been honed over nearly a century.
Of course, we must touch upon the ambiance as well. While some patrons have noted the challenges of the A/C during peak hours, it contributes to the lively and authentic experience of enjoying pizza among the hustle and bustle of a beloved Napoletan hot spot. The sense of community and friendliness truly shines through, making every visit feel like a reunion.
In summary, Pizzeria Dal Presidente - Sede Storica is not just a place to eat; it's a celebration of Neapolitan culture and culinary tradition. Whether you're savoring the thin, flavorful dough as Odette Holmes did or enjoying a glass of house white wine, each experience here is bound to be memorable. For those seeking the essence of true Neapolitan pizza, this historic pizzeria is undeniably a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
“ The men working here were very kind and accommodating! I was looking for a marinara pizza portafoglio and they made me one fresh. I loved being able to watch them make it fresh on the screen. It was delicious and plenty of sauce too. 10/10 would come back here again. Lovely guys there ”
“ Pizza was good and the house white wine was ok, the prosciutto and mozzarella was a served a little warmer than I like and the could have been a bit fresher. The AC was struggling to keep up with the warm temperatures and humidity plus competition from all the people and pizza oven doesn’t help. Overall a decent experience but still could have been better for a restaurant serving pizza from its birthplace. They didn’t accept AMEX but did accept MasterCard. Which I have seen many times in Italy, due probably to AMEX’s higher service charges to businesses that use their services. Could be improved upon but I would go back again and give them another chance. ”
“ Asked a cab driver to take us to what he thought was the best pizzeria in Naples and this was his choice. The pizza did not disappoint. It was amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. ”
“ 10/13/25 arrived by cruise ship, saw so many restaurants and stumbled on this location. The pizza was amazing! We typically ask for extra sauce (no need), the dough is paper thin with such flavor! You will not be disappointed! Would come back again and again if schedules allowed! The restaurant is 89 years old (waiter said last week)! ”
“ Went with my nephews and sibling. The staff was super nice and the pizza was wonderful, typical Neapolitan but without the watery center you may encounter at some places; beautiful char on the crust, and everyone was happy with their pie. Overall a delightful experience. ”
